World Boxing Council champion Mikey Garcia Has arrived in Mexico City, accompanied by his father and coach Eduardo García, as well as his brother Robert García.
The reception proved emotional, heartfelt and memorable for the Mexican-American, as a group of children and young people waited for him at the exit of Terminal 2 of the international airport of Mexico City, with posters and photographs, flanked by members of the sports press.
Delighted by the expressions of affection from the Mexican fans, Mikey is happy to be back Mexico, this time to receive the Green and Gold belt from World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman.
He readily confirms he`ll climb to the welterweight division and thus be able to conquer his fifth crown in different categories.
Flanked by the fans and the camperas lens, Mikey made a tour of the WBC Exhibition in Terminal One of Mexico City`s International Airport entitled: “Green and Gold” with its huge array of photos and memorabilia.
“This is really incredible, I never imagined a reception like this. I`m happy to see so many children and young people. I do not have words to thank them for all the love and taking the time to be here. Seeing this motivates me to be better every day and to consider new challenges. I can only say…..THANKS,”
