Whyte: Parker will be desperate

As Dillian Whyte (23-1, 17 KOs) gets ready to take on former heavyweight titleholder Joseph Parker (24-1, 18 KOs) on July 28, the British fighter says he’s expecting Parker to bring all he’s got in order rebound from his first defeat against Anthony Joshua.

From WBN:

“Parker’s a good fighter but he didn’t show much courage against Joshua – hopefully, he’ll be a bit more adventurous and come to have a fight against me.

“Beating Parker should almost guarantee me a World Title shot but let’s see… He’s going to be very desperate, I’m expecting the best Joseph Parker because he can’t afford to have back to back defeats.”

Whyte, 30, is most recently coming off a knockout win over Lucas Browne back in March, his seventh straight win since losing to Anthony Joshua. He’s been vying for a shot at a world title, which he hoped would come against Deontay Wilder, but that doesn’t seem to be in the cards for the time being.

Meanwhile Parker, 26, after taking his first L, is hoping to get things back on track and put on a performance that will have him back in world title contention soon enough. First he’ll have to deal with Whyte at London’s O2 Arena.

Who ya got in this one?
