Will Brooks vs. Nik Lentz, Anthony Hamilton vs. Adam Wieczorek rebooked for UFC Sydney

A pair of rescheduled fights highlighted a trio of new bookings officially finalized by the UFC on Tuesday for its Nov. 19 event in Sydney, Australia.

A lightweight showdown between Will Brooks and Nik Lentz, previously slated for UFC 216, and a heavyweight pairing between Anthony Hamilton and Adam Wieczorek, initially scheduled for this past Saturday at UFC Gdansk, were among the new fights announcements. An additional lightweight matchup between Damien Brown and Frank Camacho rounded out the news.

The meeting between Brooks (19-3) and Lentz (27-8-2, 1 NC) was scrapped the day before UFC 216, as Lentz was deemed medically unfit to fight by UFC doctors and pulled from the bout during the official two-hour weigh-in period. In a statement released by Lentz the day of his withdrawal, the veteran fighter said he was hospitalized the night before UFC 216 weigh-ins due to health complications suffered during his weight cut. Brooks, a former Bellator lightweight champion, successfully made weight but was also pulled from the event.

Similarly, a heavyweight bout between Anthony Hamilton (15-8) and Adam Wieczorek (8-1) was pulled from UFC Gdansk’s fight card on the day of weigh-ins due to safety concerns surrounding Wieczorek.

Brown (17-10) and Camacho (20-5), meanwhile, will look to get back on track after suffering losses in their most recent UFC outings. Brown suffered a first-round knockout at the hands of Vinc Pichel in July, while Camacho dropped a unanimous decision to Jingliang Li at UFC Singapore.

UFC Sydney takes place at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia. A heavyweight collision between former UFC champion Fabricio Werdum and Marcin Tybura headlines the event.
