WILL Tomlinson will headline Hosking Promotions first foray into the Melbourne boxing market on August 13.
The highly aniticipated card will take place at the Melbourne Park Function Centre in the heart of Melbourne’s Olympic Park precinct, making ‘Punches @ The Park’ the first boxing event to be held at the venue.
Tomlinson will defend his WBA affiliated lightweight strap against an opponent that is yet to be finalised.
The event will also feature a host of local talent, including well-travelled IBF middleweight regional titleholder Michael Zerafa, as well as the return of undefeated former Australian light welterweight champion Qamil Balla.
In addition to this, the stacked undercard will also host WBC Silver super bantamweight champion Shannon O’Connell, who will make the first defence of her recently acquired title against Japan’s Kimiki Miyoshi.
“I’m excited to bring an event of this calibre to the heart of Melbourne’s sporting precinct,” said event promoter Lynden Hosking. “Our debut in the city has been a long time coming, and will be well worth the wait.”
“Will Tomlinson has a history for providing boxing fans true value for their dollar and August 13th will be no different. Our card will be supported by some of the best talent across both Melbourne and regional Victoria.”
The event will also mark the return of former Olympian and two-division Australian champion Ibrahim Balla.
Young guns ’12’ Gaige Ireland and ‘Sugar’ Neekz Johnson will take part in six and four round bouts respectively.
Tickets for the event are now available and can be purchased here.
