WBC light heavyweight champion, Adonis Stevenson (29-1, 22KOs), defends his crown against Thomas Williams Jr. (20-1, 14KOs) on July 29 in Quebec, Canada.
Williams Jr. commented he is working like never before towards this unique commitment.
“This is something I have dreamed about since I was a kid. I have always wanted the green and gold belt. It is the very same belt of Sugar Ray Leonard, Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather and many other greats. This belt has been my focus since I have 5 or 6 years old. Now I have this golden opportunity.

“My preparations have being going very well. I know Adonis is very dangerous, but I have really great confidence and I know what I can do. I have been studying Stevenson and I am sure I can and will neutralize him. He’s a great champion, but this I my time to become a champion and fulfill my dreams.”
This fight is Stevenson´s 7th defense of its WBC belt, which he won defeating Chad Dawson in June 2013. While this will be Williams Jr’s first title opportunity.
