This December 17 the historic and incredible former world champion Bernard Hopkins (55-7-2, 37 KO’S) will face, in what is supposed to be his last fight, Joe Smith Jr. (22-1-18 KO), who’s World Boxing Council International champion.
Hopkins, aged 51, has not fought since November 2014 when Sergey Kovalev defeated him by decision. With his defensive style, Hopkins managed to considerably extend his career, exceeding even his own expectations. He has shattered important records, among them becoming the most aged world champion in boxing history.
Smith (21-1, 18 KO’s) is a rival who surprised the world after knocking out Andrzej Fonfara to conquer a key WBC light heavyweight championship. Without any doubt, Smith is a very tough rival for Hopkins, as he is very young, successful and hungry.
For this important event the World Boxing Council will award the winner with a beautiful Onyx belt.
