“A WORD IN YOUR EAR!” BANDIDO VARGAS KNOWS HE`S STILL GOT IT!

Former WBC super featherweight champion, Mexican Francisco “Bandido” Vargas has launched himself into a successful comeback by defeating Liverpool`s Stephen Smith, via an admonishing ear bending technical decision in the ninth round.

Francisco started the bout landing by far the harder punches in bunches.  Outgunned, Stephen weathered the storm and started to put his boxing together.  But the Mexican remained the busier, more urgent and insistent,  with a greater unsated hunger.

A horrible yet accidental clash of heads, produced a terrible injury to Stephen`s left ear, which was almost completely severed, flapping like an enraged bull elephant,  and pouring copious amounts of blood. The scorecards read: 89-82 and 88-83 twice.

¨Bandido¨ Vargas (24-2, 18 kos) showed that after eleven  months without fighting, to heal from deeply gashed and scored brows,  he`s  back, passing the test with a B plus, against a brave Smith (26-4, 15 kos).  Francisco`s homely face, showed lumps and bumps, because that`s the way he fights, with his heart on his sleeve, but thankfully no cuts this time.
