Right in the heart of Buenas Aires Argentina, the Amateur Super League of Boxing, was launched with the powerful support of the WBC.
World Boxing Council President Mexican Mauricio Sulaiman, explained why Argentina is chosen as a “platform” to continue promoting boxing and help generating more young athletes. Accompanied by superstar Sergio “Maravilla” Martínez, he outlined the many projects the Sulaimán family has developed, especially via his beloved late Father, Don Jose, who`ll forever remain a dynamo of inspiration and an example of vison, backed up by determination.
The Super league in Argentina will be a tournament for amateur boxers who intend to start right in THE sport. Its aim is to nourish the gyms with a balanced structure, to strengthen the development of new talents through graduated stages, in different venues throughout country. Special emphasis will be placed on the care of athletes, requiring the use of headguards, and a maximum of 3 rounds. From middleweights to heavyweights, twelve-ounce gloves will be worn, while lighter divisions will wear ten-ounce gloves.
All time greats Santos Laciar, Marcelo Domínguez, the Tigresa Acuña and Erica Farías, came and supported this historic event.
