World ranked # 14 welterweight Cesar Miguel “La Joya” Barrionuevo (31-3-2, 21 KOs), of Catamarca, Argentina, will clash with Oscar “El Estudiante” Meza 28-7, 23 KOs) of Sinaloa, Mexico, with the WBC Latino welterweight championship of the line.
Barrionuevo knocked out Panamanian Azael Cosio in five rounds last year as part of the WBC welterweight tournament. The popular Argentine boxer was supposed to be measured against undefeated Sammy Vásquez, however Vásquez preferred to face Olympic medalist Felix Diaz and lost by unanimous decision.
In the co-main event, undefeated super featherweight Matías Romero (13-0, 6 KOs) of Cordoba, Argentina will fight against unbeaten Sergio “El Pamperito” Sain (12-0, 9 KOs) from La Pampa, Argentina.
Ramirez (19-0-2, 7 KOs) of Sinaloa, Mexico, will face Alan Luques “El Lumbriz” Castillo (20-6, 9 KOs) of Cordoba, Argentina, in an eight rounder. The fight will be televised though TyC Sports in Argentina, Latin America and the United States and through VTV in Uruguay.
