Thai Thattana Luangphon (Worrawut Chainoi) successfully defended his WBC-Asia super bantamweight title on Saturday, September 6 after staggering Filipino Joel Kwong in the fourth round of their ten-bout match at the Workpoint Studio in Bang Phun, Thailand.

Chainoi, now undefeated at 12 wins with no losses, captured the belt in October last year, 2019, in the same stadium when he knocked out Filipino Alvin Medura in the 6th round. He then defended said title two months later on a unanimous decision against Japanese Daichi Matsuura. Kwong on the other hand won the interim World Boxing Council Asian Boxing Council Silver Feather Title at the same time Cahinoi won his title last year.

Defending the belt in Thailand is a historic one for Chainoi and his people for the belt was contested most in Thailand for 27 times.

Meanwhile, in the undercard pro-boxing bout, Thai Phongsaphon Panyakum showed the Thai power early on when he sent fellow Thai Arthit Kaewbantid down the canvass in the third round of their scheduled 6 round duel.

Panyakun is on a ten-win streak after his only loss at his professional debut in Japan in 2017.

The event was efficaciously organized by Thailand-based professional promotion WP Boxing.
