Yancy Medeiros and Alex Oliveira are set to meet inside the Octagon in December, both fighters announced on social media.
“The Kid” vs. “Cowboy” will take place at the UFC 218 pay-per-view event in Detroit, Michigan, on Dec. 2. The match-up was first reported by Combate.
Medeiros (14-4, 1 no-contest) has won back-to-back fights since moving up to welterweight, submitting Sean Spencer and knocking out Erick Silva.
Oliveira (18-4-1, 2 no-contest) is unbeaten over his last five fights, capped off by a second-round knockout over Ryan LaFlare, and decided to stay at welterweight after bouncing between 155 and 170 pounds in his first UFC bouts.
UFC 218 takes place at the Little Caesars Arena in Michigan and features Max Holloway vs. Frankie Edgar for the featherweight championship in the main event.
