Yedras fought valiantly in his fight for the WBO minimumweight title in 2015, dropping a competitive decision Kosei Tanaka in Japan. He then took a few years off after dropping a fight in Mexico. Yedras is now making his debut under the All Star Boxing banner, looking to resume his career as a flyweight.

How do you feel about fighting in front of so many viewers on Telemundo for the first time?

It really had me motivated all the way throughout training camp. There will be so many people getting to see me for the first time. It is an opportunity to put my talents on display and show that I am a legitimate world title contender.

You are moving up a few weight divisions from where you challenged for a world title. Do you feel this as an advantage for your opponent?

I dont feel there will be any weight disadvantage for me. I feel much stronger now with the additional weight. I definitely feel my punching power will still be the same if not even better.

Do you feel you will need to pressure Gonzalez to be victorious?

I have to be aggressive for sure but I have to be smart about it. I need to use effective aggressiveness because he has very good boxing skills.

Have you been in a boxing rivalry fight of Mexico vs Puerto Rico before?

This is my first time as a professional. It’s a long history of some of the most exciting fights in boxing over the years. Regardless of what the styles are going in, many of these fights turn into all action slugfests. Dont be surprised if this one turns out this way.

Do you feel your experience of having fought in a world tite fight will be helpful for this fight tonight?

I really do think so. I fought for the world tite against the local favorite and I performed well. The circumstances have their similarities.

What type of fight should the fans local and viewing expect tonight?

My style of fighting is fan-friendly. I can see this fighting heating up with back and forth action to the delight of the fans.
