Young Thai Phoobadin Yohanngoh (11-0, 6KOs) defended his World Boxing Association (WBA) Asia Super Lightweight crown with an eighth-round TKO win over compatriot Suriya Tatakhun (61-8, 41 KOs) this Saturday at the Suamlum Night Bazaar, in Bangkok, in Thailand.

Yohanngoh, who’s only 17 years old, made the second defense of the belt with a dominant performance against Tatakhun, a veteran with more than 60 victories and who was a major challenge in the young career of the champion. However, his strength and his speed were too much for the challenger and he managed to obtain a convincing win that allows him to continue to climb in the ranking.

Phoobadin won the title in July 2020 by beating Somboon Meesitdee by unanimous decision and successfully defended it in November by dispatching Atchariya Wirojanasunobol by TKO in six rounds. This second defense was the continuation of his dominance in Thailand and the opening to new perspectives.

In the same event held this Saturday in the Thai capital, Tanes Ongjunta (8-1, 4 KOs) conquered the WBA-Asia Flyweight belt by beating Suriyan Satorn (61-11, 41 KOs) by unanimous decision.

The scorecards were 99-91, 100-90, and 100-90, evidencing the dominant performance of the Bangkok native, who took the vacant regional belt of the pioneer body and won his fourth fight in a row.
