Pretty girls Nana Yoshikawa of Japan and Eun-Hye Lee of Korea will square off in quest of the vacant WBO female flyweight belt tomorrow (Sunday) in Sakai, Japan.
Yoshikawa, who had some fifty amateur bouts in Japan and US, failed to win the WBA minimum belt from Mexican Anabel Ortiz via decision in April 2015.
Lee, unbeaten with an 8-0 mark with three KOs, had been WBO 108-pound champ, but was stripped of her belt due to her Korean promoter’s repeated cancellation of her defense with Australian Louisa Hawton, who then acquired the vacant WBO belt by a lopsided decision over Japan’s Kei Takenaka here this August. Today we saw a weigh-in ceremony with this reporter as MC at the Sakai City Hall, where Yoshikawa scaled in at 111.75, and Lee a pound less.
