Yusup Raisov vacates 145 title, meets Reza Madadi in 155 debut at ACB 92

Former ACB featherweight champion Yusup Raisov has been handed a baptism of fire for his lightweight debut in Malmo at ACB 92 on Aug. 25 as he is set to face Swedish MMA icon and promotional newcomer, Reza Madadi.

ACB confirmed the fight with MMA Fighting on Wednesday and disclosed that Raisov had vacated his featherweight title.

Madadi (14-6-0) will make his return to action following his final UFC fight, a split decision loss toJoaquim Silva at UFC Stockholm in May, 2017.

“Mad Dog” returned to the Octagon after two years on the sidelines following his arrest for his alleged involvement in an aggravated burglary. Following his return, he took just one victory overYan Cabral in four tests. He dropped fights to Silva, Joe Duffy and Norman Parke over the two-year period.

Before his arrest, the Swedish-based Iranian went 2-1 with UFC. A split-decision loss to Cristiano Marcello was framed by a debut victory over Yoislandy Izquierdo and the most notable triumph of his career over Michael Johnson.

Raisov (13-1-0) is one of the top prospects fighting under the ACB banner and in Europe in general. He avenged the only loss of his career to Russian fan favorite, Marat Balaev, when he handed the 42-year-old the first loss of his career via first-round submission in their rematch for the featherweight title at ACB 86. “Wolf” has claimed eight of this 13 wins by way of submission.
