World Boxing Council Female Super Bantamweight champion, Fatuma Zarika from Kenya, is very confident of decisively dealing with Mexican Yamileth Mercado, when they clash on September 8 in Nairobi.
Zarika (30-12-2, 17 kos) aged thirty four is applying the finishing touches to a very thorough, exacting and meticulous preparation, pledging:
“I am grateful to everyone who believes in me. I promise to give everything in the ring to defend my belt.”
Fatuma does not know that much about her opponent Yamileth Mercado (13-1, 4 kos), who’s a whopping fourteen years younger. So she’s been studying some videos of the Mexican boxer’s fighting style, stressing:
¨Mercado is a good fighter. But I`ve spotted many defects in her boxing and with those opportunities we will be working in the gym towards resounding victory on September 8th, right in front my people.¨
Zarika has not been in the ring since December, when she defeated Zambian Catherine Phiri by unanimous decision at the Carnivore Grounds in Nairobi.
