Zerafa halts Reynoso in six

Melbourne-based middleweight Michael Zerafa (22-2, 13 KOs) stopped Tomas Andres Reynoso (10-2-1, 5 KOs) in round six at the Melbourne Pavillion, Flemington, Victoria on Saturday. Referee Malcolm Bulner gave Reynoso eight counts in the second and fifth rounds and called it off at 2:58 of round six. Zerafa’s only losses were to former middleweight champion Peter Quillin in 2015 in the USA and world rated Arif Magomedov in 2014 in Russia.

In heavyweight action, David Cannon (1-3) forced a three round stoppage over Gatopai Telepe (0-4) when referee Tony Marretta crowned Cannon at 1:59 of a scheduled four.

Also heavyweight Ray Dimachki (4-0) stopped Maga Telepe (2-5) in round one of a scheduled four. Telepe was dropped in round one and retired at the conclusion of the round.
