GEN. SANTOS CITY — Mirzhan Zhaksylykov of Kazakhstan outpointed Filipino Rimar Metuda of General Santos City to capture the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council Silver super featherweight title last September 9 at the Traktor Sport Palace in Chelyabinsk, Russia.

Judges Semen Stakheev and Dmitry Boldyrev scored identical 99-91 while the other judge Ilya Kilunin saw it 98-92 after 10 rounds.

Zhaksylykov, a former PABA featherweight title-holder scored his 10th win against only one loss while Metuda suffered his first setback after 10 straight wins with five knockouts.

Zhaksylykov, who lost in his previous fight against Shavkat Rakhimov by a unanimous decision last February 27, was only a substitute opponent of Metuda for his injured stablemate Mark Urbanux.

The 22-year old Metuda had earlier won the vacant WBF Asia Pacific featherweight title via a 5th round technical knockout against Jason Tinampay last September 26 at the Gaisano Mall Atrium in Gensan.
