6 Of Thailand’s Most Revered Martial Arts Legends Will Be At ONE: KINGDOM OF HEROES

Anticipation is reaching unparalleled levels as ONE Championship returns to Bangkok, Thailand, this weekend with its biggest blockbuster event to date.

In the main event of ONE: KINGDOM OF HEROES, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (46-4-1) and Iran “MagnifiKO” Diaz (14-2-3) will make history as the first to do battle under boxing rules in the promotion’s history.

The WBC Super Flyweight World Title will be on the line as Thai national hero Srisaket aims for a third successful defense of his crown. However, his Mexican foe enters with a history of defeating world champions, as well as the intensity boxers from his nation are famed for.

The thousands of fans in attendance at the Impact Arena on Saturday, 6 October, will be sure create an electric atmosphere, and they will be joined by some of Thailand’s most revered combat sports athletes who will be ringside to witness the thrilling spectacle.

Supporting their fellow pugilist will be Chatchai SasakulSaen Sor PloenchitMuangchai Kittikasem, and Manus Boonjumnong.

Chatchai Sasakul is a former WBC and Lineal Flyweight World Champion, who boasts a phenomenal record of 63-4-1 from his 17-year career in the ring.

Former WBA Flyweight World Champion Saen Sor Ploenchit successfully defended his title nine times, facing many of his era’s top names en route to a 44-3 record before his retirement in 2003.

Muangchai Kittikasem became the first Thai to win world titles in two different weight classes, taking the WBC Flyweight and IBF Light Flyweight belts.

Continuing his country’s proud tradition at the Olympic Games, Manus Boonjumnong brought home a gold medal from Athens in 2004 to become a national hero, before earning a silver from Beijing in 2008.

These revered Thai boxers will also be joined by icons from other disciplines.

Muay Thai legend Dieselnoi Chor Thanasukarn – a dominant Lumpinee Stadium World Champion from the 1980s – will be supporting his compatriot from ringside.

Pioneering mixed martial artist Rambaa “M-16” Somdet, who paved the way for the current crop of Thai athletes in ONE after becoming Shooto Flyweight World Champion, will also be watching the action.

All of these incredible martial artists will be in attendance in Bangkok to support Thailand’s biggest stars of today, including Stamp Fairtex, who will be challenging China’s “Killer Bee” Kai Ting Chuang for the ONE Kickboxing Atomweight World Title in the co-main event.
