Australian bantamweight Jason Moloney showed he`s a hard hitting cobber, by clobbering Mexico’s Leonardo “Leon” Baez in the seventh round of a Top Rank and ESPN televised card from the MGM Grand Conference Center from Las Vegas.
With the focus of an argonaut, Determined not to be fleeced, Jason resisted a strong start from “León” Báez, and with power shots to the body in round six and Stepped up in round seven, forced the Mexican fighter to retire.
With this result, Jason Moloney improved his record to 21-1, 18 knockouts, while Leonardo Báez fell to 18-3, 9 knockouts.
In another match, Abraham Nova (19-0, 14 knockouts) had to work hard to beat Avery Sparrow (10-2, 3 knockouts) by unanimous decision in ten rounds. Undefeated featherweight Orlando González (15-0, 10 knockouts) scored an eight-round unanimous decision over Ecuadorian Luis Porozo (15-3, 8 knockouts). Heavyweight Kingsley Ibeh (4-1, 4 knockouts) knocked out Waldo Cortes (5-3, 2 knockouts) in the fourth round.
Welterweight Reymond Yanong (11-5-1, 9 knockouts) won a six-round split decision over Clay Burns (9-8-2, 4 knockouts).
