The long-awaited showdown between unbeaten Mexican-American unified WBC/WBO 140-pound world champion José Carlos Ramírez against Ukrainian mandatory challenger Viktor “The Iceman” Postol will finally be held this Saturday, August 29, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada USA.
Ramírez (25-0, 17 KOs) and Postol (31-2, 12 KOs) were supposed to battle last February in China and then on May 9 in California.
But due to you know what, both shows were canceled.
Finally, this Saturday, the Mexican unified world Champion and his veteran Ukrainian challenger will meet in the ring, fans wondering who will emerge VICTORIOUS.?
Ramírez, 28, is a tough, younger puncher rising star with power and good fighting skills, while the ring-tester Postol, 36, is a former world champion with heart, experience, and absolutely 100% hungry to be a champion of the world again.
Ramírez, handled by Top Rank, is of Mexican descent, his parents are from Michoacán.
The show, promoted by Bob Arum, will be live in the U.S. on ESPN and in Latin America on Canal Space.
