Welterweight Alvin “Time Bomb” Lagumbay of Bukidnon will go to Tanzania to fight Cosmas Cheka on Dec. 31 for the UBO Asia Pacific title at the Jamhuri Stadium.
The 25-year old southpaw Lagumbay (12W-5L-1D, 19KO) recently beat Bryan Macamay of Paranaque by a unanimous decision last Feb. 8, 2020, at the Saint Louis College in San Fernando City.
Lagumbay, however, earlier lost by a TKO in the 2nd round to Gor Yeritsyan of Armenia for the vacant WBO Youth welterweight title last December 18, 2018, in Kazan.
Lagumbay will be accompanied by trainer Tacy Macalos, former International Boxing Federation world light flyweight champion.

Cheka (18W-11L-4D, 3KO), on the other hand, won over Geoffrey Nyamu of Kenya by a unanimous decision last July 29, 2018, in Nairobi.
Cheka, however, lost to Bebe Rico Tshibangu of Congo by TKO in the 2nd round last Aug. 25, 2018, in Kinshasa.
