WBO interim super featherweight champion Miguel “Alacrán” Berchelt (29-1, 26 KOs) faced off with WBO #2 rated challenger Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo (61-2, 41 KOs) at their final press conference on Thursday in advance of Saturday’s world title clash in Los Reyes La Paz, Mexico.
Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo: “We’ve seen Berchelt, he’s a good champion, but doesn’t have the experience or the heart that I have. This is my third opportunity to fight for a title and shall be definitive one because I will be world champion.”
Miguel Berchelt: “We are prepared for the experience, the punching power, and everything the Thai brings. My preparation, my talent and my Mexican warrior spirit will win!”
In the co-feature, WBA female champion Anabel “La Avispa” Ortiz (21-3, 4 KOs) faces Kareli López (9-6-3, 2 KOs) in a non-title bout.
