UFC 222 midweek betting odds: Cris Cyborg in widest line of her UFC career

Bloodyelbow.com

UFC 222 is going down this Saturday night, so that means Bloody Elbow is back to bring you the midweek betting odds. The top of the billing will see Cris Cyborg in the longest betting line of her UFC career at -1750, as she takes on card-high underdog, and UFC newcomer, Yana Kunitskaya at +1125. Top-5 featherweights will be showcased in the co-main event, withFrankie Edgar sporting the favorite tag of -175 to underdog Brian Ortega at +155. Along with Cyborg, UFC 222 contains four other fighters that are favored with a line of -300 or longer, with the corresponding underdogs being found at +250 or larger. Take a gander at this little list of the UFC 222 heavy betting favorites:

(-425) Mackenzie Dern vs. Ashley Yoder (+340): Strawweight

(-380) Beneil Dariush vs. Alexander Hernandez (+315): Lightweight

(-300) Zak Ottow vs. Mike Pyle (+250): Welterweight

(-320) Jordan Johnson vs. Adam Milstead (+260): Light Heavyweight

In a bit of an odd occurrence, Cat Zingano sports a +135 on most betting sites, but BetDSI is the only place you can find her at a favored line of -110. Her opponent, Ketlen Vieira, clocks in at -155 on most sights, then at -120 on BetDSI.

Aside from the weird Ketlen Vieira vs. Cat Zingano situation, the tightest lines of the night belong to (-135) Hector Lombard vs. C.B. Dollaway (+110), and (-135) Andre Soukhamthathvs. Sean O’Malley (+108).

Saturday’s UFC 222 main card will air live on Pay-Per-View at 10:00 P.M. EST with the prelims starting at 8:00 P.M. EST on FS1. The exclusive Fight Pass prelims will begin at 6:30 P.M. EST.

Sean O’Malley vs. Andre Soukhamthath: Bantamweight

For some reason, Sean O’Malley opened up as a -260 betting favorite to the much more experienced Andre Soukhamthath, and his opening line of +180. It didn’t take very long for some adjustments to be made, which caused O’Malley to fall into underdog territory at +115, and Soukhamthath to flip to a favored line of -135.

Suggestions:

(-425) Mackenzie Dern vs. Ashley Yoder (+340): Strawweight

Ashley Yoder is not a knockout threat, as the bulk of her pro MMA success has come by way of submission. Mackenzie Dern is a BJJ goddess. Yoder is getting sub’d is what I’m saying. Dern wins inside distance @-164 is quite the looker.
