An interesting lightweight matchup has been added to the main card of the first of two Bellator MMA Hawaii events next month.
Derek Campos will take on Sam Sicilia at 155 pounds at Bellator 212 on Dec. 14 in Honolulu, MMA Fighting has learned.
Campos (19-7) has been a continuous presence in the Bellator lightweight division since 2013, and has racked up an 8-5 record in the company. He’s coming off a TKO loss to Patricky Freire in February, which ended a four-fight win streak.
Sicilia (16-9) has earned a reputation as an exciting brawler, win or lose. He has split a pair of fights since he jumped to Bellator last year and is looking to bounce back from a submission loss toEmmanuel Sanchez in his last fight.
The bout will be on the first of two cards to be held at the Blasidell Center on consecutive evenings. The first event will be headlined by the rematch between Bellator lightweight champion Brent Primus and former titleholder Michael Chandler, and will air on Paramount Network and DAZN. The following evening’s card, Bellator 213, will be headlined by Hawaii’s Ilima Lei-Macfarlane, who will defend her Bellator flyweight title against Valerie Letourneau.
