Puerto Rico’s David “Dabo” Quijano (16-6-1, 9 KOs) takes on Ricardo “Meserito” Rodriguez (14-3, 4 KOs) of Mexico this Friday. The ten round main event will be for Rodriguez’ WBO Latin jr. bantamweight title. The site location will be the Palm Bay Community Center in Palm Bay, Florida. The card is presented by promoter Tuto Zabala Jr.’s All Star Boxing and will be televised by Telemundo. The bout will be a rematch from a fight which took place four months ago where Rodriguez won by decision. Quijano felt the bout could have gone either way and looks to leave no doubts this time around.

Do you feel you entered your first fight with Rodriguez overconfident?

I would not say that but I will say he was much stronger than I had anticipated. I definitely felt his punches throughout the fight.

Were there many distractions for you leading up to the fight being that you had alot of support from your fellow Puerto Ricans?

Actually the total opposite. I was really focused going into the fight and the support motivated me that much more.

What changes do you think you will have to make to be victorious this time?

I have to be much more aggressive this time around. The fight was more even than anything because I was not aggressive enough.

How did you see the outcome of the first fight?

I honestly thought it was at worst a draw. It is much different when your in there fighting but that is the way I saw it.

Do you still feel you’re the puncher in this fight?

You will have to ask me that after the fight. I did not test him with my power the first fight. I will this time around and we will get the answer of who is the heavier puncher.

What kind of fight should the Telemundo viewers expect this time around?

The first fight was a good action fight. This time it will be alot more action as I will be bringing it from the beginning until the end.
