A born fighter! “Jo Jo” Diaz wins WBC interim lightweight crown

In a clash for the WBC interim lightweight title, Joseph “Jo Jo” Diaz Jr. (32-1-1, 15 KOs) moved up to 135lbs and won a twelve-round unanimous decision over Javier Fortuna (36-3-1, 25 KOs) on Friday night at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles.

The bout was intense and aggressive. Diaz was awarded for his efforts scores of 117-110, 116-111, and 115-112.

Ho ho, Jo Jo, as he celebrated in the middle of the ring by cradling his newborn son immediately after the fight, as part of the Golden Boy Promotions card. It was streamed on DAZN.
