Acelino Freitas’ professional boxing talk was a complete success. The World Boxing Association (WBA) and its president, Gilberto Jesús Mendoza, keep on promoting projects through the WBA Academy, and this time former Brazilian World Champion and Director of the WBA Athletes Committee had the opportunity to share his experience at an online presentation.
“Popo” talked about his anecdotes, the obstacles he had to overcome to become a world champion, and all it takes to reach such a status. More than 180 people connected at the same time to attend Freitas’ talk, who, under a dynamic format and a great setting, interacted with the audience and answered their questions.
“No talk will be as good as this one. This is Acelino Freitas, it is important for us that he shares his experience on how to train and how he became a world champion. This is the most concrete approach we have had with Brazil and I swear to the Brazilians connected that ‘Popo’ is a great representative and this will bring good things to Brazil”, said President Mendoza.
The talk included the special participation of Jessie Vargas and Joel Casamayor, who shared their views and talked about the difficulties to become a world champion.
Freitas thanked Mendoza and the entire WBA team for working together for Brazilian and world boxing. Freitas is a devoted worker for the Brazilian youth and has been involved in dozens of projects aimed at social development and sports improvement.
His example inspires many, and this was stated by several attendees in the online chat, who expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to hear about the champion’s experiences through the WBA Academy.
