ALA Boxing Promotions Bids Goodbye

Thirty-five years in the industry had made ALA Boxing Promotions one of the most respected stables in the world producing world champions like the longest-reigning world champion Donnie Nietes, Milan Melindo, Jeo Santisima, Jimrex Jaca, Rey Boomboom Bautista and the Pagara brothers to name a few.

The final bell had rung as the world pandemic had affected the overall situation of the company. Father and son Tony and Michael Aldeguer officially announced that the promotion is releasing all of its fighters so these fighters can look for other promotions as well and find ‘greener pastures’.

It can be remembered that ALA had partnered with US-based promotions such as the Golden Boy in 2006 and Top Rank on a few events.
Besides the pandemic, one of the major reasons was said to be the non-renewal of ABS CBN, it is the major partner of ALA in all of its events thus making it almost impossible to push through with all the promotions. It could be remembered the partnership which was the long-running Pinoy Pride was launched in 2010 at the Waterfront in Cebu.

ALA boasts a 194 events under its name

ALA Boxing promotions is also the only Filipino promoting company to stage its shows in Dubai and the United States.
