CRIS Alfante scored a convincing unanimous decision against challenger Reymark Taday to retain his WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental flyweight title last Saturday night at the Flash Grand Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City.
Judges Carlo Baluyut and Jerrold Tomeldan both scored it 96-93 while judge Robert Bridges had it 97-92 all for Alfante, who improved his record to 13-6-1.
Taday dropped 8-3-0.
Meanwhile, lady boxer Gretchen Abaniel also won a unanimous decision against Chamaporn Chairin in their 6-rounder bout.
All three judges – Carlo Baluyut, Salvador Lopez and Robert Bridges – scored 60-54.
