American heavyweight former WBC United States (USNBC) champion Ronald “The American Dream” Johnson (15-1, 4 KO’s) of Las Vegas, Nevada, has arrived in the Philippines ahead of his twelve-rounder main event GBO title clash set for Saturday, June 15, billed as “Thrilla in Davao.”
Looking strong while displaying his boxing belts, Johnson was welcomed at Davao’s Francisco Bangoy Airport by Filipino Fred C. Lumba, chairman & CEO of the Global Boxing Organization (GBO).
“The American Dream” is set to trade heavy artillery against experienced Bolivian warrior former WBC interim South American Heavyweight titlist “The Phoenix Assassin” Saul Farah (69-23-3, 60 KO’s) in what will become the first heavyweight fight in the Philippines in ages.
Johnson — who in the past has been trained by none other than Floyd Mayweather Sr. — aims at a stoppage win over the big “Phonix Assassin.” That will happen.. or will it be the other way around?
This is a heavyweight fight that no boxing fan in Davao can afford to miss.
The “The American Dream” Ronald Johnson vs “The Phoenix Assassin” Saul Farah for the vacant GBO heavyweight title on Saturday, June 15, at The Enderun Tent, Azuela Cove in Lanang is a production of man of boxing Reynaldo Rodis of RED Boxing International, Inc. in association with the City Government of Davao.
Gate opens at 5 PM and closes at 7 PM sharp.
So fans are advised to arrive at fight venue on time.
May the Best Man Win..!!
