AWUKU’S MEX MAX WBC AIM

By WBCboxing.com

“Winning is the only thing I have in mind” insists the audacious,  and supremely confident Ghanaian fighter Maxwell Awuku (44-3-1, 30 KO’s) in the countdown to  Cancun Saturday February 10th,  where and when he encounters World Boxing Council super featherweight champion, Miguel “Alacrán” Berchelt, at the “Oasis Arena.”

Max (44-3-1, 30 KO’s) who’s already comfortably ensconced in Cancun at hotel  Grand Oasis, is happy to “Wax lyrical!”  Although he doesn’t  speak Spanish, he wasted no time in finding an interpreter to make it clear he’ll win  and then return to his homeland with the green and gold belt.

“I am very happy and  most grateful that they have given me this wonderful opportunity. Hey, I know that I’m not the favorite, and I also know that I’m on foreign territory. But…I’m in excellent shape with great enthusiasm to provide a big surprise. I come to win and that’s exactly what will happen!”

Concerning Miguel Berchelt,  Max is facing facts:  “He’s the champion for a reason.  I know that he beat Takashi Miura and that speaks very highly of his quality as a boxer. I’m sure it won’t be an easy fight, but victory will be mine. It’s  my main objective. I also know that my experience will be very important.”
