
The anticipated welterweight showdown between Bellator champion Douglas Lima and Rory MacDonald will go down in January.
Lima and MacDonald are slated to meet in a title bout on Jan. 20 at Inglewood’s Forum, Bellator officials confirmed to MMA Fighting following a report by LA Times.
MacDonald (19-4) earned a shot at the Bellator gold after dominating and finishing Paul Daleyin his promotion debut in May. It was his first bout after a 9-4 run under the UFC banner between 2010 and 2016.
Lima (29-6) recaptured the 170-pound championship with a second-round knockout overAndrey Koreshkov last November, and successfully defended it with a unanimous decision victory over UFC veteran Lorenz Larkin in June.
