Blaydes: ‘I don’t have to wrestle, but most likely will, because that’s where Ngannou is weak’

How confident is Curtis Blaydes?

The No. 3-ranked heavyweight is willing to give UFC Fight Night 141 opponent, Francis Ngannou, his entire gameplan before they hook ‘em up in the Fight Pass main event this Saturday (Nov. 24, 2018) inside Cadillac Arena in Beijing, China.

Especially after watching “The Predator” get manhandled by Stipe Miocic.

“He didn’t have great conditioning then, he doesn’t have great conditioning now,” Blaydes told The MMA Hour. “I know if I hold him down for two to three minutes, he’ll be gassed, he’ll be done for. That right there just lets me know I could have beat him back then with all the holes I have in my game and today I’m ten times better than the version of myself that debuted that day. I don’t have to wrestle, but most likely I will wrestle because I know that’s his weakest area of MMA.”

Even if it wasn’t, Blaydes is still a good enough wrestler to get the fight grounded.

Ngannou stopped Blaydes by way of exploding face back in early 2016. That was the last time “Razor” tasted defeat, putting together six straight wins with three knockouts, though one of those wins was overturned as a result of a positive weed test.

Anyone expecting a different outcome the second time around?
