“BOMBER” BELLEW’S HAYE DAY!

By WBCboxing.com

Former cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew once again dominated fellow former champion David Haye, knocking him out in five, at the O2 Arena in London, England, in a show topper and show stopper, organized by  Hayemaker Promotions and Matchroom Boxing, and aired by SKY Sports in the United Kingdom.

Bellew, a former World Boxing Council cruiserweight champion, who was bursting with power and astutely using boxing smarts sent David to the canvas twice Goliath style in the third round and once again in the fifth, when he landed a hard right hand, followed by a crunching hook.

Even though he got up it just wasn’t Haye’s day.  Clearly  not in good condition, he tried his level best to continue with the true spirit of a champion, even getting into a new exchange of blows, while trying to use the ropes, to box his way out of increasingly deep trouble but the Referee had seen more than enough, waded in  and stopped the one way traffic action.

With this spectacular victory, Bellew improves his record to 30-2-1, with 20 knockouts, while a different punchline for Haye,  who left the ring with a record of 28-4, with 26 knockouts.
