Borres cancels fight due to Jerez’ squared

The fight of super flyweight Jeronil “Chocolatito” Borres of Camiguin Island against undefeated Dylan “The Real Dyl” Price of USA was cancelled after Borres’ pocket money worth USD2,000 was squandered by his matchmaker Ronald Jerez.

The fight was supposed to be held on October 30 at the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland, USA.

He left Jerez after the money was spent at the casino.

“Doon na siguro naubos kasi simula nung nagpadala ng pera sa kanya sa casino na nag tambay, one week tambay doon (Maybe he ran out there since the money was sent to him at the casino that hung out, he hung out there for one week),” said Borres (11-5-1, 6KOs).

Borres, who is managed by Roel Kaamino of Bukidnon, is now residing temporarily at the Highland Boxing Gym in Sampaloc, Manila.

Jerez alias “Mr. Futoshi” is a well-known squaderer of the money by the boxers. He lost his matchmaker license in 2015 after a complaint was filed at the Games and Amusement Board.

Among his victims were super welterweight Arnel Tinampay (26-26-1, 12KOs) of Bohol and some other Boxers.
