Julio César “Rey” Martínez (16-1, 12 KO’s), who`s the World Boxing Council flyweight champion, must postpone his defense against Puerto Rican McWilliams Arroyo (20-4, 15 KO’s), scheduled for August 15 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, due to a respiratory infection.
According to Eddy Reynoso, who works in the corner of “Rey” Martínez together with Mauricio “Chale” Aceves, sent a medical certificate from the Mexico City Boxing Commission to request the postponement of the fight.
Martínez comes from successfully defending his crown by defeating England`s Jay Harris by unanimous decision (116-111, 115-112 and 118-109), on February 29.
