Bryant Perrella looks to get back on track with December 8 return

By Badlefthook.com

Bryant Perrella will take to the ring for the first time in over a year next week.

Welterweight prospect Bryant “Goodfella” Perrella will return to the ring on December 8, as he looks to get his career back on track following a loss to Yordenis Ugas in September 2016, his last outing.

Perrella (14-1, 13 KO) was seen as a strong prospect with a marketable in-ring style before the setback against Ugas, a loss that looks better now than it did at the time. Ugas had lost two straight in 2014 before returning in 2016 to take the “0” from Jamal James and then Perrella, which set up an ongoing five-fight win streak that has made Ugas a name on the move at 147 pounds.

Perrella, 28, will face Alex Martin (13-2, 5 KO) in a 10-round fight on December 8 in Florida, part of the PBC on FS1-televised show that features the return of Jean Pascal against Ahmed Elbiali, Chad Dawson vs Edwin Rodriguez, and lightweight prospects Austin Dulay and Raynell Williams in a meeting of young unbeatens.

“Alex Martin is a talented fighter but like myself, is coming off a defeat,” said Perrella. “I’m expecting him to be at his best because this is an important fight for both of us.

“Training is great so far and we’ve traveled throughout Florida to work with some awesome fighters. I will be fully prepared for December 8 and plan to show everybody that my last fight was a fluke.”
