Superstar world champion Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez once again filed a lawsuit in a federal court of the United States in the State of California, against DAZN and his promoter Óscar de la Hoya, owner of Golden Boy Promotions, alleging breach of contract and other charges.

Canelo delivered all the corrected papers to the Superior Court of Los Angeles last Monday, September 28.

The 23-page lawsuit has modifications to be accepted this time after it was previously dismissed by the United States District Court in the Central District of California for various reasons related to the verification of the defendant parties.

The case will now be presided over by the Honorable Judge Michael P. Linfield.

Canelo Álvarez has not yet fought in this year 2020 and has only made 3 fights of the 11 fights that he signed for a period of 5 years with British Sports streaming service DAZN for the astronomical boxing record of $ 350 million U.S. Dollars.

Apparently, the dispute stems from a disagreement in the payment of his next fight – which is contractually guaranteed for $ 35 million U.S. Dollars.

And also for the choice of his next rival, which never materialized.

Canelo Álvarez’s lawsuit claims damages for at least $ 280 million U.S. Dollars.

Canelo specifically alleges in his lawsuit: breach of contract, intentional interference with a contract, negligent interference with a contract, fraud, and breach of fiduciary duty.
