DAVAO CITY – Undefeated KJ Cataraja of Cebu will face John Mark “Iceman” Apolinario of Sarangani on Dec. 17 in Sanman Gym in Gen. Santos City.

The 25-year old Cataraja is now already under new manager Mhavic Kamiyama of ZIP and JC Manangquil of Sanman.

Cataraja is formerly from ALA Stable and had sparring sessions with former World Boxing Organisation World Super Flyweight champion Donnie Nietes.
He had eight rounds for this fight.

“Duha ka beses sa eight rounds og naka 5 times me sa six rounds (Twice in eight rounds and 5 times in six rounds), he said. Cataraja said that Apolinario should not be taken for granted.

He said Apolinario is a veteran boxer who is also even known outside the Philippines.

“Dili ta angaymo kumpiyansa ani kay beterano ni siya (We do not need to be confident because he is a veteran), he said.

Cataraja said that Apolinario has many opponents who are also known here and abroad.

“Pero dako ko salig sa among training og preparasyon” (But I have a lot of confidence in our training and preparation) said Cataraja.

Apolinario (20W-13L-3D, 5KOs), on the other hand, has only fought until 2018.

He won by a TKO in the 2nd round over JP Macadumpis of Gen. Santos City last June 27 at Capitol Gym in Barangay Matti, Digos City.

He then went to Japan twice and lost in both – Kenya Yamashita (3rd round) and Yusaku Kuga (4th round).
