Domingo to fight Alvarez on Dec. 17

DAVAO CITY – Light flyweight Esneth “Hard Hitter” Domingo of Sultan Kudarat will fight Gerald Alvarez of Cotabato on Dec, 17 at the Sanman Gym in Gen. Santos City.

The 22-year-old Domingo is now already under new manager Mhavic Kamiyama of ZIP and JC Manangquil of Sanman.

“Naga pa salamat ko sa Sanman Promotion kay Boss JC Manangquill og sa akong manager Mhavic Kamiyama nga gitagaan ko og duwa bisan pandemic pa karon,” (I still thank Sanman Promotion to Boss JC Manangquill and my manager Mhavic Kamiyama for giving me a game even though it is still a pandemic), said Domingo.

He also thanked for welcoming him in Sanman.

Domingo had a sparring for almost a month with International Boxing Federation rated Jason “Smasher” Mama and Asian Boxing Federation minimumweight champion Victorio ”Vicious” Saludar.

Domingo (13W-1L-0D, 7K0s) had three fights in 2019.

He lost to Alphoe Dagayloan of Zamboanga by a unanimous decision last April 13 at Quibors Boxing Gym in Bacoor.

But Domingo went back to win against Lanao’s Belmar Plaza by a knockout in 1st round at Superdome in Ormoc City, He finished the year with a majority decision over Minh Phat Sam of Vietnam last Nov. 3 at District 7 Arena in Ho Chi Minh City.

“On top of the ring, I will do my best to win this game,” said Domingo.

Alvarez (4W-9L-1D, 4KOs), on the other hand, lost to Jerry Francisco of Cotabato by a unanimous decision last Feb. 29, 2020, at Lagao Gym in Gen, Santos City.
