Cecilia Braekhus dominant, retains titles in Moscow

Another fight, another dominant performance from Cecilia Braekhus.

Braekhus improved to 34-0 (9 KO) with a one-sided victory today in Moscow, beating home fighter Inna Sagaydakovskaya.

It was the first loss for Sagaydakovskaya, who falls to 7-1 (3 KO).

Braekhus, 36, completely owned the ring, which is not unusual for her, and once again proved she’s the best women’s boxer in the world pound-for-pound, retaining her collection of titles. She was never in any trouble, did damage to Sagaydakovskaya throughout the fight, including hurting her in the final round. You could even argue that she showed some mercy late in that final round, sending it to the judges instead of finishing, which it appeared she could have done.

It was the second win this year for Braekhus, who last fought on May 5, when she made an historic debut on HBO in defeat of Kali Reis, the first women’s fight ever shown on the premium cable outlet.
