Chuck Liddell eyes ‘Rampage’ rematch following final win over Tito Ortiz

Don’t call it a comeback. He’s been old for years.

One and done? Pfffft … as if.

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion, Chuck Liddell, is making his return to mixed martial arts (MMA) against a familiar face this Sat. night (Nov. 24, 2018) inside The Forum in Inglewood, California.

Fellow UFC hall-of-famer, Tito Ortiz.

But don’t expect their bank-breaking pay-per-view (PPV) main event to scratch his competitive itch. That’s because “The Iceman” has some pretty lofty goals following his third (and hopefully final) win over the “Huntington Beach Bad Boy.”

Which may put Scott Coker in a familiar position.

“If I perform the way I think I’m going to on Saturday then I’m definitely going to be looking for another fight after this,” Liddell told TMZ. “There’s a lot of guys. (Chael) Sonnen’s been running his mouth, there’s always ‘Rampage’ still in it. Wanderlei (Silva) is still in it, Vitor (Belfort) has been talking about it, so we got a lot of guys out there who are possibilities.”

Liddell also promised to hang ‘em up (again) if Ortiz prevails.

What’s interesting about a potential Quinton Jackson rematch is that it would make Liddell the Ortiz of that fight. “The Iceman” was stopped by “Rampage” back in PRIDE FC, then put away for a second time when they ran it back in early 2007.

I guess we’ll know which way the wind blows when the dust starts to settle this weekend in “The Golden State.”
