The World Boxing Council and fight fans are on the edge of their seats, in anticipation of a fabulous February of fight cards, with even more than just shuffling aces.

February 24, Quebec, Canada / Lucian Bute Vs. Eleider Álvarez.

The Videotron center, Quebec, Canada will host a war between former champion Lucian Bute, who`s moving up  to the light heavyweight division, seeking  the world championship that`s firmly in the grasp of   Adonis Stevenson…just so long, as long as he  can defeat  Eleider Álvarez, in an eliminatory bout.

Alvarez, who comes to this match with an undefeated record of 21 fights and has won, 10 of them by way of the knockout. He`s already promised that this match certainly won`t be successful  for would be contender Bute.
Bute, expressed his desire to conquer a new crown but now at 175 pounds.

February 24, Oslo / Klara Svenson vs. Cecilia Braekhus.

A long awaited moment of truth for female boxing, with a megafight that experts and fans have long asked for between Klara Svenson Vs. Cecilia Braekhus.

Cecilia comes from two defenses where she managed to come out with a victory last year,  against Chris Namus in February, by unanimous decision, also beating  Frenchwoman Anne Sophie Matis with a second-round knockout. This particular fight  was historic since in Norway boxing was previously banned for more than 30 years.

Svensson defeated her compatriot, the experienced Mikaela Lauren, which won her the interim WBC title, in a tough bout,   on 10 September, where she won the decision.
An extra ingredient of this bout is the sporting rivalry between Sweden and Norway.

February 25, Alabama, United States / Gerald Washington Vs. Deontay Wilder.

Undefeated Gerald Washington, who has a record of 18 fights won, 12 of them by way of knockout, will be the rival of WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder  in Birminghan, Alabama. This will be the fifth defense of his crown .
Washington, who`s  a dangerous opponent, took his opportunity, after Andrzej Warzyk, failed an Anti-Doping Testing of the Clean Boxing program implemented by the WBC and VADA.
After revealing the results of the test the promoter of Deonaty, Lou DiBella, had to look for a new rival. Lou says : “This is a good fight, better than the one that was going to happen with Wawrzyk, Washington is an imposing and strong boxer. A real threat and this will be very interesting.

February 25, Yorkshire, England / Rey Vargas vs. Gavin MacDonell.

Undefeated Mexican Rey Vargas will travel in search of the WBC super bantamweight title against British Gavin McDonell after   Hozumi Hasegawa, announced his retirement from the ring.

Local McDonell, of Yorkshire, has a record of 16 wins with four knockouts and two draws.  However, Vargas aged 256, has an unbeaten 28-0 mark with 80% knockout effectiveness. He was the WBC Youth World Champion and the WBC International champion. Now he`s determined  to conquer the world championship.

February 25, Yorkshire, England, with Jairo López vs Luke Campbell.

On the same card of Vargas vs. McDonell,  another interesting bout, featuring  Luke Campbell against  Jairo Lopez. They`ll be disputing the silver belt of the WBC in the lightweight division.
The winner will not only be awarded the prized belt, but will also have the opportunity to soon reach a world title opportunity.

February 25, France / Christina Linardatou vs Myriam Dellal.

Myriam Dellal will defend her WBC super lightweight crown against Christina Linardatou a rival who has shown her desire to excel in this sport and to recover from that defeat when she sought the lightweight world title against Delfine Persoon in June 2016.

Myriam with a record of 14 wins, 2 KO’S, 5 losses and 3 draws, will try to make full use of her experience and speed to gain  victory.
