Daigo Higa and Seiya Tsutsumi Fought to a Draw in Tokyo
By Carlos Costa
Japanese former WBC flyweight world champion Daigo Higa (16-1-1, 16 KO’s) and his unbeaten, less-experienced, tough compatriot Seiya Tsutsumi (5-0-2, 4 KO’s) battled their hearts out to a 10-round draw in a thrilling non-title bantamweight match Monday at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
The 2 brave Japanese warriors delivered a bloody combat that unfolded with alternating dominance.
It was a war from courage to courage from the first bell till the last one.
In the end, one judge scored 96-94 in favor of Daigo Higa. But was overruled by the 2 other judges who saw the fight as a 95-95 draw.
After this unexpected draw, the heavy-handed former world champion Daigo Higa may rethink how to fine-tune his fighting skills towards coming more-demanding wars.
