
Dapudong, Medura fall in Japan

Former IBO World super flyweight champion Edrin “The Sting” Dapudong of M’lang and Alvin “Daredevil” Medura of Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay both lost in separate ways in Japan last September 3.
The 36-year-old Dapudong lost by a technical knockout in the 1st round to former OPBF and WBO International bantamweight champion Ryo Akaho of Japan at the Korakuen Hall.
Dapudong suffered his eight setback against 35 wins and one draw.
Medura, on the other hand, lost by a unanimous decision to Sho Ishida of Japan at the EDION Arena in Osaka.
It was the 7th loss by Medura against 10 wins.
Meanwhile, former WBC Youth World Light flyweight champion
Riku Kano beat compatriot Yuga Inoue for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific flyweight title in the main event.
