This morning on “Coffee Tuesdays” we welcomed former world champion David Benavidez who on August 28 will face the dangerous Venezuelan Jose Uzcategui at the Phoenix Arena in Arizona in what is expected to be a true war.

David, who was very happy to be able to share moments with his boxing family, was clear when he said that the fight with Uzcategui is undoubtedly one of the most complicated matches he has ever had since the quality of Jose is known to all; however, this becomes an extra motivation, because what he wants most is to show that he is a warrior and that he is ready to once again be champion of the WBC.

Without going too far ahead, David expressed his desire to face the current WBC 168 Lbs. Champion Saul Alvarez, since he considers that this is a fight that everyone wants to see; However, he knows that in order for this dream to come to fruition, he must first come out with the victory over Uzcategui.

Grateful to all those who have been looking forward to his career, David promised to put on a real show in the ring. In a very special way, David thanked his promoter Sampson Lewkowicz, a man who has been with him from the beginning and who has shown him genuine affection that has led him to be considered part of his family.

Sampson returned the gesture to David and recognized his affection and admiration because since they began their path in boxing, he has seen his growth, dedication, discipline, and above all his passion for this sport.

Finally, Sampson urged everyone not to miss out on this great fight because he assured that it will be one of the best of the year and announced that if the fight with “Canelo” was made, it could take place in Las Vegas, because even though it would be something historic doing it in Mexico recalling the feat of the great Julio César Chávez when he broke a record at the Azteca Stadium, Lewkowicz considers that perhaps the issue of the pandemic does not would allow such a massive congregation of fans.
