BOXING NEWS-By Fightnews.com

WBO #11 rated super featherweight Carlos “Fino” Ruiz (15-2, 5 KOs) of Mexico City takes on WBC FECOMBOX titleholder Sebastian Diaz (12-2, 10 KOs) of Aguas Calientes, Mexico, tonight on Boxeo Telemundo Ford from the Plaza Condesa Auditorium in Mexico City. The 10 round main event is titled “Civil War” with Ruiz’ WBO Latino title at stake.

What do you know about your opponent Diaz?

He is for sure a hard puncher. Almost all of his victories have been inside the distance. He is constantly coming forward and throwing punches to the head and body.

What do you see as your advantages in this fight?

I have excellent movement and it’ll make it hard for Diaz to hit me. I’ve also sparred with very strong fighters. This will have me ready for the moments when I stop and exchange.

Do you feel your experience will be a deciding factor in this fight?

This will be a very big factor for me in my favor. I have fought and won outside of my country. That experience has me extremely confident going into this fight.

How has your notoriety been since your debut fight on Telemundo?

I am very content for the opportunity to fight on the network again. Many people liked my style and how I fought that last fight.

Who do you think the local fans will support in this fight?

He is a puncher. Many fans love punchers so I see the fans being split on the support for us both.

What are your goals should you be victorious tonight?

I really want to fight in the USA. I’m very happy once again fans there will get to see me fight. I’m ready to fight there and show I belong in there with the top fighters of my division.

What kind of fight should the fans expect given both of your styles?

I would advise the fans not to miss this fight. Both of us are strong fighters and were going to show this in the ring. This is going to be a good one.
