World Boxing Council super bantamweight champion Rey Vargas, is being intensively trained by brilliant Hall of Fame Coach Ignacio Beristaín in Mexico City, for the first defence of his green and gold title on August 26 in the United States, against Ronny Ríos.
With two months still to go, before the first bell sounds for fisticuffs, the lanky Mexican champion points out that: “My word! We still have to work very hard indeed, because we are risking so very much. My WBC championship and my undefeated record!! Accordingly, I’ll be ready to defend my fulfilled dream, become reality of my whole life. No one, but no one will take this for me!
“I don’t want to brag about it , but you can see the quality opponents on my record. I’ve overcome a rogues gallery, and some really awkward rivals, of all kinds. It’s thanks to the teachings of Don Nacho. We always known how to get the victory.
“We are working very hard on increasing my strength. Now as world champion I simply cannot afford to forgive any rival. We will increase my KO ratio. First or final round we will get the victory!”
