The UFC is turning 25 and is throwing one heck of a party for itself in November.
Frankie Edgar vs. Chan Sung Jung is set to headline UFC Denver on Nov. 10 in Colorado, the UFC announced Friday. ESPN first reported the news. UFC 1 took place in November 1993 — in Denver.
Edgar (23-6-1) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Cub Swanson at UFC Atlantic City in April. He has won three of four with the lone blemish a knockout loss to Brian Ortega at UFC 222in March. Edgar, 36, is a former UFC lightweight champion and a surefire future Hall of Famer, known for his grittiness, resiliency and ability to beat bigger opponents.
Jung (14-4) returned after nearly four years away to complete his Korean military service to knock out Dennis Bermudez in February 2017. “The Korean Zombie” has been out since then due to knee surgery. Jung, 31, has won four of his last five fights overall and is one of the most exciting fighters in the featherweight division.
Also on the UFC Denver card, Donald Cerrone will take on Mike Perry in what is poised to be an all-action welterweight clash.
